Began our trip in Oslo. We took the metro to Vigeland Sculpture park and then to the famous Oslo ski jump. Also visited the folk and Kon-Tiki museums. After Oslo we hopped on the Norway in a Nutshell rail tour for an amazing ride out to to Myrdal where we switched trains to the Flåmsbana and went down the mountain to Flåm where we stayed for a couple days. Took a ferry to Gudvangen and sailed through the Nærøyfjorden, a World Heritage Site. Truly magnificent!

Our car rental fell through but we lucked out when we found a personable driver for a day tour to the Stegastein view point above the Aurlandfjord to see perhaps the most amazing view I've ever seen. From there we drove the snow road over the mountains to Borgund to see the Stave church. The setting was one I'll never forget. Drive back through the the Lædar tunnel, the worlds longest, and got back mid afternoon in time for our ferry ride to Balestrand and the world famous Kvikness Hotel.

We negotiated several ferries and drove to Geiranger. Along the way we drove over the mountains on an skinny one lane road. Felt like a moonscape. We drove up the toll road to Dalsnibba which was one of the highlights of the trip.

On Sept 9th we had a private kayak birthday trip to Geirangerfjord for a two hour jaunt to Seven Sisters waterfall. Yes, it was a surprise gift! 😯 From there we drove to Ålesund where we hopped on the Hurtigruten ship for our overnight trip to Bergen where we visited for a couple days.
